Music Therapy

Music Therapy is a knowledge-based and goal-directed approach that integrates both the elements of music and our relationships with music into a session with a credentialed music therapist.

Music Therapy focuses on the relationship between a credentialed music therapist, the individual, and the music to work towards non-musical therapeutic goals. Goals might include physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. Within a session, an individual might create, listen to, or move to music. Music therapy provides an individual with a safe and adaptable environment to work on their goals in a way that is effective and enjoyable.

Music therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship
